A trip budget is a separate budget for a specific set of dates — a vacation, a weekend away, a school trip — so your everyday budget isn’t thrown off.
Create a trip budget
- Create a new budget and choose the Trip type.
- Set a start and end date and (optionally) a short description.
- Add categories just like a normal budget (e.g. Food, Transport, Souvenirs).
While your trip is active, the Add Expense screen automatically selects it, so expenses land in the right place without extra taps.
After the trip
When the end date passes, the trip is archived automatically so it’s out of your way. You can still review it any time from the Past Trips screen.
Splitting a shared cost
When you add an expense on a trip budget, turn on Split expense:
- Tap the Split chip on the Add screen.
- Choose how many people you’re splitting between.
- Clarius shows your share and records only that amount against your budget.
- Optionally note who you split with.
This keeps your trip budget honest — you only count what you actually owe, even when you paid the whole bill up front.
Check your trip by voice
On iPhone you can ask Siri “How’s my trip budget in Clarius” for a quick spoken summary of what’s left and how many days remain. See Add by voice with Siri.
